Introducton
The Axi-Core™ Automatic Chromatography Column is designed for high-efficiency separation and purification processes. This state-of-the-art column is engineered to meet the demanding needs of industrial and laboratory chromatography applications, ensuring consistent performance and reliable results. Axi-Core™ Columns are equipped with advanced axial compression technology, facilitating optimal packing of chromatography resins. Axi- Core™ columns are a link between kilo plant to manufacturing operations which handles hundreds of litres of various protein soups on various chromatography resins. Axi-Core™ column technology enables packing and purification operations with multiple variety of resins which are previous generations soft gels with single ligand chemistry or recent development of hardshell gels with single and/or multiple ligand chemistries.
The integration with a packing station ensures uniform resin distribution, reducing voids and channelling. Integration with packing station also enables to record a log using its own software which is 21 CFR part 11 complied. This handshaking with packing station needs less time, less requirements of number of persons and lesser requirement of total volume of resin while packing of any chromatography resins.
Axi-Core™ chromatography columns are new generation low-pressure enabling axial compression of loosely packed bed columns with the help of automated Axi-Core™ packing station protocols which don’t need any air operated diaphragm pumps and need not be connected to chromatography skids for the collection of column packing, unpacking data log recording. Intelligent alliance with self-operated Axi-Core™ packing station attributes hassle-free operations with less time and manual working hours, thereby increasing productivity.
Axi-Core™ columns come in various sizes like 450 mm diameter to 2000 mm diameter and with various acrylic and/or SS column tubes heights like 550mm, 600mm and 950 mm across all diameters. Productivity of operations depends on maintenance of columns. Across all diameters i.e. 450mm to 2000mm, there is “swing-out” mechanism of column tube across all diameters and tube heights available. This swing-out mechanism decreases maintenance time for replacing top or bottom adapter mesh and reduced time to minutes than hours of time.

Axi-Core™ Master saves cost by assisting operations more than one column. Thus, it is not needed to purchase new Axi-Core™ Master for each column. Axi-Core™ Software enables creating folders in the inside memory for various columns at a time and which can be retrievable via using USB memory devices and/or can be stored as per data recording modified protocols set in the data management section.
Axi-Core™ Chromatography column is widely used in various biosimilar molecules like vaccines, monoclonal antibodies, insulin and analogues and many more. Materials of construction used for Axi-Core™ columns satisfies ASME Bioprocessing Equipment standard, wetted polymeric materials meet requirements of USP VI as described in USP <88> Biological Reactivity Tests in vivo and 21 CFR Part 177 issued from FDA. Axi-Core™ column produces certificates required for free from any animal-derived components or in compliance with EMA/410/01 Rev.2.
